Is cheating a major concern in online courses?  Yes, it certainly is. Southeastern Louisiana University professors chime in.

. . . Nelson said his colleagues are complaining of students taking the test in groups or hacking into the bank of test questions beforehand. Students also open the test online, take screenshots of the test, then crash their computers so their instructor will restart the test after they’ve had a couple of hours to study.

“There’s all kinds of stuff they can do to cheat,” he said.

The most common method of cheating is having another person take the test instead of the intended student. . . .

Free or low cost, Online Education, State Colleges and Universities

Over two and one-half years ago, we covered the free online cyber-security courses offered by the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

Prepare for some really awesome news.  These courses have been evaluated by the American Council on Education and are now approved for college credit.   While two credit hours may not seem like much, it could very well make a huge difference for students earning undergraduate degrees, especially associate degrees.
